I have to say, this was my first time hearing a Luke Slaughter episode, and I loved it - I've never heard a show open with the main character sounding like he's challenging me to a fight.
It loses something without Sam Buffington's delivery, but:
"Slaughter's my name, Luke Slaughter. Cattle's my business. It's a tough business, it's a big business. I got a big stake in it. And there's no man west of the Rio Grande big enough to take it away from me."
