It's Catch-Up Week! (August 23 to 30)
« on: August 23, 2010, 01:14:17 PM »
Straight from the blog:

I'm declaring this week as catch-up week. There will not be any new shows from August 23 to August 30. Unofficially, I might sneak The Horror and Strange Tales in on their usual days...but don't hold me to it.

It's a great time to catch up if you're behind, or to try one of the shows you may have passed on before.

(Yes, I'm just putting a spin on the fact that I'm taking a break....)

It is a well-deserved break.
I'm going to download some extra Gildersleeve eps, as I just became a fan and have heard nearly none of them.

I realized the other day that I've been doing this stuff for over three years straight, not missing one episode on many of the shows, and then got immediately tired.  :laughing7:

you've gotta live man.
oh, two things...
i listened to a Richard Diamond podcast and dude on there had some very nice things to say about you Jim.

secondly, i wondered if you would consider doing a "dedications week", you know, "Wednesday would like to send this episode of the Horror, with love, to BMJ2K" or something like that?

P.S. apparently i love you BMJ2K, i had no idea. :love6:

Please take a break, Jim, so that you don't burn-out.  With about 200 or so shows on my phone, I'm sure I'll be able to find something to listen to while you're sleeping in.  ENJOY the time off!!   :occasion14:

I've often wondered how you keep so much going all the time Jim.  When you look at all the various podcasts and websites you have going.  Not to mention those pesky message boards it seems it would take a ton of time.  Like McDonald's says, "You deserve a break today!"

I may go back and grab a few Sci Fi episodes.  I dropped out a little while back, so there are several I haven't heard.

Just a week.

I realized the other day as my unlistened to podcasts passed the 3,000 mark that I've abandoned the notion of catching up.

Now I'm just creating arbitrary goals, like shooting for the ability to listen to a podcast a day for 10 years.

Eventually, I may get to the point of having more podcasts that I can listen to in a lifetime.

My problem isn't time, it is that I use the time to relisten to oldies instead of listening to new shows.
For example, for some reason I got it into my head to listen to some Cape Cod Mystery Theater, and on top of my CD player are the full cast versions of Star Wars Dark Empire 1 and 2. Not otr but cutting into my otr time.

I just helped him with a few questions.

Dedications week?  Are you serious?  As soon as I perfect my Casey Kasem impersonation I'll consider it!

Yep, sounds like dangerous ground to tread.

Glad we made a love connection here on the forums by the way!  :tongue3:
